I am the Founder and President of Financial Journey Partners. My job is to help clients make smart decisions, align their money with their goals and encourage them to Enjoy the Journey. Making smart decisions comes from understanding the client’s priorities, i.e. what is important and who is important to them. This is enormously helpful when it comes to building a truly personalized plan and portfolio, where each decision is integrated within the broader framework of the plan. And our motto “Enjoy the Journey” is about understanding our clients’ dreams and goals and making sure they happen, sometimes, faster than they imagined.
I learned early in life about the impact of money and the effect it has on a person’s ability to have great vs difficult choices in life. By studying finance, investments and related subjects, I can help individuals and families focus on their dreams. Things are constantly changing, and I make the time to stay current and continually improve my knowledge and abilities in order to better serve our clients. Through my natural sense of hope, compassion, and enthusiasm, I strive to help others succeed.
Another important area in my life is volunteering to enable good governance, informed voters and a strong and healthy community. As an active member of the League of Women Voters I have served on the board for almost twenty years and am currently the Co-President of the League of Women Voters of Cupertino-Sunnyvale. I also volunteer regularly at my church and other nonprofits, and truly enjoy giving back to these amazing communities.
Since 2023, Scott Manley and I have co-authored two books with the intent of enriching people’s lives by sharing key learnings and wisdom from our decades of financial planning experience. Our goal is to make the transition from a career into retirement non-threatening and manageable. Our first book, Enjoy the Journey: Successful Retirement Strategies and Stories was very well received. We followed up with our second book, Enjoy the Journey: A Woman’s Guide to Retirement. This book addresses specific factors unique to women as they plan for and transition into retirement. It contains a variety of real-life “stories” that provide insights to women who are thinking about retiring or have already retired. We have seen that with clear eyed planning, it is very possible to transition into retirement without friction and to continue to Enjoy the Journey of our lives.
