Mid-Term 2026 Ballot Measures

October 21, 2026

Understanding your ballot is one of the most valuable things you can do before November 3.

On Friday, October 9, Elaine hosted a Zoom webinar to walk our clients and community through the statewide propositions and local measures on this year’s California ballot. The goal was simple: give voters a clear, nonpartisan explanation of what each California measure does, so everyone can head to the polls feeling informed and confident.

What the Session Covered

This year’s ballot has 14 state propositions. Using Pros and Cons materials from the League of Women Voters of California, Elaine reviewed each statewide proposition, including housing and immunology bonds, the proposed one-time billionaire tax, voter ID, campaign financing, recall elections, CEQA reform, and several measures related to state and local taxes.

For each measure, the presentation looked at a consistent set of questions: How did it get on the ballot? What does it do, and how does it change existing law? Who benefits, how much does it cost, and who pays for it? Who supports or opposes it, and who’s funding each side? The session also explained a few helpful background concepts, like how state bonds work and what California’s spending limit means for several of this year’s propositions.
